Testimonials

"My experience with Laura was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, she made me feel supported, listened to, and completely at ease. Her calm presence and encouragement helped me feel confident and empowered throughout my pregnancy.
She is so incredibly kind and natural with babies and toddlers. She is patient, gentle, and so warm-hearted. It’s clear she truly loves what she does.
Her postpartum massage was also amazing. Truly restorative and exactly what my body needed after birth to be able to relax and recover.
I'm so grateful for her support and would highly recommend her to any family." - Nicole

"I had a Closing the Bones massage to bring closure to a difficult period of my life that had required a lot of endurance and included the loss of two important relationships. The sense of presence and attunement that Laura brought was truly exquisite; she crafted a safe, sacred field in which I couldn't help but rest.  I found the design of the ritual to have profound physical, physiological and spiritual integrity, and it made space for my body‘s natural capacity to mend itself in ways I couldn’t have predicted. In the days following, my body's physical structure continued to gently unwind into a kind of rightness, and I received unexpected insights that shed light on my past, brought me peace and perspective, and lightened my load. I can’t recommend Laura‘s services enough. Her skillful, humble, compassionate, and knowing presence creates the kind of generative environment in which long-held wounds can resolve themselves, and life force can come boldly online."  - Therese

"Laura’s support before, during and after giving birth was phenomenal. We hoped to have a home birth but were unsure whether this would be able to happen due to the team’s availability and whether the baby would be in the right position. But we couldn’t have had a more seamless and beautiful experience giving birth at home.

The first time Laura came over to the house to talk about the birth and to see whether we were the right fit for each other, she walked through our birth plans with us and asked insightful questions, often prompting us to think about things that we hadn’t even thought of. There was no pressure, judgement or recommendation as such, but she gave us such a full idea of what options we had and the different choices we could make.

My wife and I were unsure about whether giving birth in a pool would be the right thing for us, but we agreed that having it available would provide us with the option should we decide on the day that we wanted to use it - spoiler alert, we did and it was amazing! I’m so glad we had it there just in case. Once we had agreed that Laura would be with us at the birth, she visited us again and we talked about the logistics of what might happen when I went into labour and how to contact her for support. She asked that we walk her around our house so that she could made sure that she knew where everything was, allowing us to be completely present during the birth and for her to be independent and useful.

After calling the home birth midwives to let them know my waters had broken, we called Laura next. She asked questions to see how the labour was progressing and let us know that she’d come over and see how we were doing. When she arrived I was in early labour and still able to chat through contractions. She listened and I felt really seen, as she really understood how I was feeling. It felt incredible having her there to listen and talk about both the physical sensations and the emotional weight of this experience.

Once she left I was in labour at home with my wife for a few hours and when things started to progress again, and the contractions were closer together and more intense, we phoned her to let her know and she came over shortly thereafter. She helped my wife to set up the birth pool and keep the water warm, collected towels, kept my wife and I fed and watered, talked through contractions with me and offered breathing techniques, and when my wife needed to leave the room Laura supported me in positions that felt good.

As we came closer to the delivery, I was in the birth pool with my wife on the outside, talking to me, breathing with me and giving me sips of water. During this time, Laura’s supported my wife, to support me. She ensured that my wife had the strength, both physically and mentally, to be present with me during the delivery and during the most emotional and astonishing experience of our entire lives.

We asked Laura to cut the umbilical cord for us, as her calm and stable presence, facilitated an environment of safety, warmth and love. The levels of oxytocin were through the roof, as the degree of care and devotion that Laura gave to us during this experience radiated through us all. We were able to fall into her arms - both literally and figuratively - and be held, throughout. She stayed with us until we were settled and comfortable with our sweet little baby in our arms, and then went to sleep in our home, just incase we needed any support.

In the days after the birth we were high on oxytocin, and despite our collective exhaustion and 24 hours of labour into the night, Laura’s support was consistent and unwavering. She brought round soup and provided breastfeeding resources. We de-briefed about the experience and it felt so valuable and special to have shared this experience with someone so knowledgeable, careful and warm.

We hope to have another child one day, and I couldn’t imagine going through pregnancy, birth and postpartum without Laura. Her intelligent, thoughtful, personal and un-judgemental support is precious and I am so grateful to her for her love."  - Bella
